In Your Dreams: T.J.Maxx

You've got to love it when you find great things for a price that is too good to be true. The places I most often find such deals are at Marshalls and T.J. Maxx. My first job at 16 was actually at a Marshalls in Richmond, VA. I think that's why I'm so good at knowing how to look for things there. This week I found some really great things at T.J. Maxx, including an adorable Marc by Marc Jacobs swimsuit. The suit, normally $94 each piece, was $45 total.

DreamLook: Retro Style ala Beyonce

Beyonce's over-the-top tribute to 50s glamour and Pin-Up girl glitz mixed with sky-high platform shoes in her new "Why Don't You Love Me" video are the latest variation on her long-running leotard theme. But I love it! Here are some pointers on getting the look from this video.

Retro Suits -

Carmen Marc Valvo Retro One-piece (At Victoria's Secret), Anthropologie Retro Two-Piece, "Havana" Retro Two-piece (getgoretro.com)
Super-High Platforms -

Lauren Jones "Vicki" Platform (at Nordstrom), Loriblu Forzieri Turquise Peep-toe Platform, Gianmarco Lorenzi Python Leather mules
Pin-up Girl Makeup -

The key to this makeup is a heavy brow, a bold lip, and lots and lots of winged eyeliner!

I know many of you are dying to try these trends, just be sure to do it responsibly. You don't want to appear to be in costume!

Forever 21 has Swimwear!

As if Forever 21 wasn't already the best, most affordable wardrobe and accessories solution ever, now they have swimwear too. Perfect solution for buying that trendy bathing suit that won't be in style anymore by next year. Who cares if it only cost $20?? Or if you need something last minute and all of your favorites on Victoria's Secret's site are (gasp!) on back order. Just right for a budget beach babe! ;-p

Dreamworthy Item of the Week: Earth Angel Swimwear

In January's issue of Maxim Magazine, Actress Dania Ramirez (of Heroes and Sopranos fame, above) modeled some fabulous swimwear by Earth Angel. These suits leave little to the imagination and are the arch-enemy of cheeseburgers everywhere. Nevertheless, I WANT ONE!

Earth Angel's website (http://www.earthangelswimwear.com) showcases several intricately-knitted, "one-of-a-kind" pieces ranging in price from $225 to $275. This seems a bit much for a few cris-crossed threads of yarn...but then they are "hand-made." Perhaps I'll hit up Ben Franklin Crafts and try knitting one myself. ;-p
