Thierry Mugler to Design Beyonce's Tour Costumes

Thierry Mugler has designed the costumes for Beyonce's "I Am..." world tour this year. Mugler's designs are known for being over-the-top and often very "Superhero Meets Sci-fi Villain", with plenty of shoulder padding, cinched waists, and dominatrix overtones (like the ones pictured at left).

Wikipedia reports that Mugler "has signed on to create a 58-piece wardrobe for Knowles, her dancers and band for the world tour. However, Knowles' own clothing lines House of Dereon and Dereon will also contribute to the wardrobe." Now you all knew Miss Tina (Beyonce's Mom) wasn't going to get pushed out of the design chair that easily! Wikipedia continues, "Mugler's input will extend to the role of 'creative advisor', as he will contribute to designing the entire show, from lighting to choreography, directing three of the portions of the production, 'Dangerously in Love', 'Ave Maria' and the show's finale." Louis Vuitton Spring 2009 Ready-to-Wear Collection

Well folks, I am simply enamored with LV's Spring 2009 Ready-to-Wear Collection. The animal prints, the do-dads, feathers, ropes, bold colors, and short hemlines make this collection fun, wild, and outrageously sexy! The bags are, as always, phenomenal and unique while still maintaining elements of the classic LV style. I certainly plan to use much of this style inspiration in my personal wardrobe this Spring...now if I could only scrape up enough pennies to have a piece of my own!
